Version 0.0.9.0 Released! Major Update!

Version 0.0.9.0 is live!

This is a major update to the project.

You should remove the old installation of the program before running the installer. The upgrade feature appears broken for some reason. If you miss this step and the program crashes on launch simply uninstall and reinstall.

Update Includes:

  • Input thread selection in frame mode. Some games, mainly Street Fighter 6, poll inputs on multiple threads. This made frame mode not record or playback correctly in those games. A new option has been added to the frame timing bar to select the thread ID to target for frame tracking. Select the thread ID that results in 60 fps average for polling. This will allow all of the functionality of the toolkit to function. Shout out to @WydD who made a twitter post explaining that thread filtering is a solution to SF6 input injection, and motivating me to add the feature https://twitter.com/WydD/status/1743422747277938778
  • Massive performance improvements to the input sequence editor. The input sequence editor in previous versions had serious performance issues with large input files. Opening, udo, redo, and scrolling could take several seconds. With this update the input editor can quickly and smoothly open files with 100s of inputs and undo and redo rapidly. This is a huge usability improvement. These improvements were only possible thanks to this virtualising wrap panel code, so big thanks to sbaeumlisberger https://github.com/sbaeumlisberger/VirtualizingWrapPanel .
  • Minor UI improvements. Added clarity improvements to the UI in the pad hotkey bind and input sequence editor.
  • Street fighter 6 frame mode support. With the addition of input thread selection, frame mode now works with Street Fighter 6. To setup the toolkit in frame mode with Street Fighter 6 do the following (or follow along in the video below).
    •  Launch the toolkit without a controller plugged in.
    • Select UI input and setup the UI iniput of virtual gamepad 1 to turbo press start.
    • Launch Street Fighter 6.
    • Once the title screens have been skipped, swap the input mode of virtual gamepad 1 to mirror input and plug your gamepad in.
    • Navigate to training mode.
    • In the toolkit, click into frame mode at the top of the UI.
    • Select xinput version 1.4
    • Enter the PID of Street Fighter 6 and click connect.
    • Finally use the pulldown to select the thread ID that results in the FPS average in the upper left of the toolkit to read ~60 fps. Now you are set to use the toolkit with Street Fighter 6.
